4-Cyclohexylpyridine (4CP) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to act as an antioxidant. The radical mechanism of 4CP suggests that it is an electron donor, which can be observed by the reaction products generated when irradiated with UV light. 4CP has also been shown to inhibit pyridinium and pyridazine formation in the presence of quaternary ammonium salts and cyclohexanol.
