3-Ethylphenylhydrazine is a piperidine derivative that is used as an intermediate in the chemical industry. It has been shown to be used in the manufacture of various organic acids, solvents, and pharmaceuticals. 3-Ethylphenylhydrazine has been found to inhibit the activity of bacterial strains such as Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter aerogenes, and Pseudomonas fluorescens. Mechanistically, it is believed that 3-Ethylphenylhydrazine inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA and preventing transcription and replication.
