Informazioni sul prodotto
PDM2 is a type strain of the bacterial species, Enterobacter aerogenes. It has been shown to have a regulatory effect on the mitochondrial membrane potential, and it is sensitive to detection by flow cytometry. PDM2 can confer tetracycline resistance in E. aerogenes and other bacteria. The gene sequence for PDM2 has been determined and found to contain a C-terminal fatty acid binding site that may be involved in regulating the expression of genes encoding fatty acid synthase or hydroxylases. PDM2 has also been shown to have an antioxidant function in chloroplasts by preventing lipid peroxidation, which is important for photosynthesis efficiency. Lastly, the bacterium has been found to be an opportunistic human pathogen that can cause intestinal cancer, colorectal cancer, and caco-2 cell death when grown outside of its natural environment.
