1-(3',5'-Di-O-benzoyl-2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro-βL-arabinofuranosyl)thymine is a novel nucleoside analog. It has high antiviral activity and can be used as an anticancer drug. 1-(3',5'-Di-O-benzoyl-2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro -βL -arabinofuranosyl)thymine has been shown to inhibit the growth of leukemia cells in culture. This drug is synthesized by the modification of 3,5'-dibenzoyl arabinose with 2'-deoxyribose containing a fluorine atom at the 2' position. The synthesis of this compound is accomplished through phosphoramidite chemistry using commercially available reagents. CAS No. 171721 03 2
