Descrizione

2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoro-2'-C-methylcytidine is a cytidine analog that inhibits viral replication. It binds to the RNA polymerase of HIV, which prevents it from transcribing the virus' genetic material into mRNA. It also inhibits other viruses such as herpes simplex and hepatitis C, as well as inhibiting cell proliferation in cancer cells. 2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoro-2'-C-methylcytidine inhibits energy metabolism by blocking the conversion of ATP to ADP. This inhibition can be used to suppress the replication of some viruses and cancer cells.
