6-chloropyrimidine-4-carbonyl chloride (6CP) is a molecule that is used in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. It is synthesized by reacting pyrrole with thiocyanogen, followed by dehydrogenation and cyclization. 6CP can be used to prepare sulfanyl chlorides, which are useful as reagents in organic synthesis. The technique of spectrometry has been used to study the structure of 6CP. Spectroscopic studies have shown that 6CP has a molecular weight of 136.2 g/mol and a melting point of 30°C. The spectrum obtained from 6CPC appears as a strong signal at 10 ppm with an integrated intensity of 1,500 units and a proton resonance at 7.5 ppm with an integrated intensity of 1,000 units.
