TAMRA-PEG4-methyltetrazine is a peptide that can be used as a research tool for studying ion channels. It contains two fluorophores, one of which emits at 645 nm and the other at 680 nm. TAMRA-PEG4-methyltetrazine binds to the alpha subunit of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor in the central nervous system and inhibits its function. This peptide is also able to bind to a wide range of ligands, as well as proteins such as antibodies and enzymes. The purity of this compound is high and it has been shown that TAMRA-PEG4-methyltetrazine can inhibit cell proliferation by inhibiting protein synthesis, thus leading to apoptosis or cell death.
