Nilotinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that is used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia and Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Nilotinib inhibits the activity of tyrosine kinases, which are enzymes that regulate cellular processes such as cell division and differentiation. This effect causes cells to stop dividing or die.
