4-Hydroxypiperidine-2-carboxylic acid is a nitrogen nucleophile that can be produced by reacting 4-hydroxypiperidine with oxalyl chloride. It is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and chemical products. The receptor activity of 4-hydroxypiperidine-2-carboxylic acid has been studied using glutamate as a model substrate.
