3-[Dimethoxy(methyl)silyl]propyl Methacrylate is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of polymers. It is a reactive monomer with a hydroxy group and a polymerizable group. This compound is used in coatings, as well as in the production of polymers for use in particleboard, fiberboard, and other wood products. 3-[Dimethoxy(methyl)silyl]propyl Methacrylate can be used as an initiator for free-radical polymerization reactions. It has also been shown to have properties that are hydrophilic, which make it useful for chromatographic purposes and for water vapor absorption. 3-[Dimethoxy(methyl)silyl]propyl Methacrylate is often used as an encapsulant because it has a high glass transition temperature and low volatility, making it suitable for this type of application.
