Pentamethyl-3-phenyldisiloxane is a silicon compound that is used in the diagnosis of diseases. It is used for sample preparation and dissociates in water without the presence of other solvents. Pentamethyl-3-phenyldisiloxane has been shown to be resistant to nucleophilic attack by nature, but can be protonated with acid.
