Dabsyl-L-leucine is a synthetic, organic solvent that is used in the synthesis of detergent compositions. It is also useful as a diagnostic agent for detecting radiation. Dabsyl-L-leucine has been shown to be an effective surfactant and can be used to produce homologues and monomers. Structured polymers can be synthesized from this material by reaction with phosphorus oxychloride. Dabsyl-L-leucine can also be used for the diagnosis of polypeptides.
