Descrizione:β-Defensin-3 is a human peptide that belongs to the class of defensins. β-Defensin-3 is a potent activator of ion channels, and has been shown to be an inhibitor of ligand binding. β-Defensin-3 is also known to have antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. This protein interacts with receptors, such as TNF receptor 1, and can be used as a research tool for studying protein interactions. β-Defensin 3 has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro by interacting with the intracellular proteins, phosphatidylserine (PS) and annexin A2, which are involved in apoptosis.
