4-(2-Aminoethylamino)-7-(N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl)benzofurazan is a water soluble, activated derivative of the anticancer drug benzofurazan. It is used for the treatment of cancer by inhibiting the enzyme fatty acid synthase. 4-(2-Aminoethylamino)-7-(N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl)benzofurazan has been shown to inhibit the growth of human breast cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This compound also inhibits heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels and suppressing the production of proinflammatory cytokines. 4-(2-Aminoethylamino)-7-(N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl)benzofurazan can be used as an analytical reagent for fluorescence analysis.
