1-([1,1′-Biphenyl]-4-ylmethyl)octahydroazocine is a research tool and an activator of the opioid receptor. It is also a ligand for the receptor. 1-[(1,1′-Biphenyl]-4-ylmethyl)octahydroazocine binds to the receptor in a competitive manner and inhibits the ion channels in cells, which are necessary for nerve transmission.
