Streptavidin-NC has been shown to be more sensitive than antibodies in cardiac muscle and skeletal muscle immunoassays, with better specificity for cardiac troponin I and T than monoclonal antibodies. The molecular mass of this protein is about 50000 Da, which corresponds to a chain with about 500 amino acids.
