• Descrizione: Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a peptide hormone that regulates the calcium and phosphate levels in the blood. It is produced by the parathyroid glands, located near the thyroid gland in the neck. PTH increases blood calcium levels by increasing bone breakdown, stimulating bone formation, and increasing reabsorption of calcium. This protein also stimulates phosphaturia to increase serum phosphate levels.
