2,2-Dimethyl-5-phenyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione is a chemical compound that has been identified as an intermediate in the synthesis of a variety of organic compounds. It is produced by decarboxylation at high temperatures and thermolysis with isocyanates. The compound can be detected by spectroscopy with infrared or nuclear magnetic resonance techniques.
