1-(2-Nitrophenyl)piperidine is a chemical compound that can be synthesized from iodides, yields, methoxyl, cross-coupling, amines, halides, aerobic conditions and nitro compounds. It is used in the synthesis of anilines and chloro compounds. 1-(2-Nitrophenyl)piperidine is also used as a catalyst for organic reactions. It has been shown to catalyze the reaction of chloro and palladium with functional groups such as methyl or phenyl groups. The use of this catalyst reduces the amount of hydrogen needed to produce the desired product while decreasing the formation of unwanted byproducts.
