Informazioni sul prodotto
4-(2-Methoxynaphthalen-6-yl)butan-2-ol is a gelsolin inhibitor that has been shown to be toxic in mice. It also inhibits the activity of the enzyme vinyl ketone, which is involved in the synthesis of cinnamon and sagebrush oils. 4-(2-Methoxynaphthalen-6-yl)butan-2-ol has been shown to inhibit collagenase and aggrecanase, two enzymes that are responsible for the breakdown of cartilage, in rheumatoid arthritis patients. The mechanism of action is unknown, but may be due to its ability to chelate metal ions such as palladium or platinum. The compound can be used as a monitoring agent for palladium catalysed coupling reactions in different solvents, and can also be used as a radish extractant.
