5-Bromo-6-phenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone (5BP) is a heterocyclic compound that is synthesised from methoxymethyl aluminium chloride and pyridazine. It has been shown to have antiplatelet activity by inhibiting the activation of blood platelets, which are cells in the blood that form clots. 5BP also has antibacterial properties against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium perfringens. This compound has been shown to possess a dihedral angle of 180°.
