N-Phenyl-2-(di-tert-butylphosphino)indole is a ligand that has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the synthesis of terminal alkynes from aryl bromides and iodides. It was also found to be an effective catalyst for the synthesis of propionic acid from activated fatty acids and heterocycles. N-Phenyl-2-(di-tert-butylphosphino)indole is also used as a receptor ligand in biological studies, binding to receptors through its functional groups. The palladium catalysts are typically used in organic synthesis, palladium chemistry, and electrochemistry.
