Poly[[5-(2-ethylhexyl)-5,6-dihydro-4,6-dioxo-4H-thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,3-diyl](4,4′-didodecyl[2,2′-bithiophene]-5,5′-diyl)] (PEDOT:PSS) is a molecule that has been used in the fabrication of electrophotographic devices such as printers and photocopiers. PEDOT:PSS can be used to produce perovskite films with properties that are highly desirable for photovoltaic applications. The optical properties of PEDOT:PSS films have been shown to depend on the morphology of the film. Additives such as amperometric biosensors can be incorporated into the polymer film to improve its sensitivity and selectivity.
