(R)-1-(1-phenylethyl)urea is a potent casein kinase inhibitor. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells that are stromal and in the process of metastasis, as well as against brain cancer cells. (R)-1-(1-phenylethyl)urea also has a role in inhibiting nervous system disorders such as neuropathic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder. The compound may have therapeutic potential for treating other nervous system disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and schizophrenia.
