Informazioni sul prodotto
2-Amino-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)propanamide is an anti-arrhythmic drug that belongs to the class of Class Ia agents. It acts by blocking the sodium channel in cardiac tissue, thereby slowing down electrical conduction and prolonging action potential duration. Tocainide has been shown to be effective for long-term prevention of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with ventricular arrhythmias or congestive heart failure. This drug is metabolized through glucuronidation and has been shown to have a wide therapeutic range. Tocainide is used as a diagnostic agent because it can be detected in blood samples, which can be taken after an intravenous injection or a bolus dose.
