Informazioni sul prodotto
Phenylbutazone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of drugs called non-selective inhibitors of cyclooxygenase (COX) and is used for the treatment of pain, fever, and inflammation. It is a reactive compound that can cause acute renal failure and other problems. Phenylbutazone is metabolized by esterases into phenylacetate and phenylacetic acid. The COX enzyme has been shown to be involved in the metabolism of fatty acids, which are important components of cell membranes. There are also studies that show that phenylbutazone has antimicrobial activity against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, Proteus mirabilis, and Serratia marcescens.
