- Borate(1-), trifluoro[rel-(1R,2R)-2-methylcyclohexyl]-, potassium (1:1), (T-4)-
Potassium trans-2-methylcyclohexyltrifluoroborate is a substrate for the cross-coupling of aryl chlorides. This catalyst is used in microscale experiments and has been shown to be efficient for the coupling of aryl chlorides in the presence of sterically hindered organotrifluoroborates. Potassium trans-2-methylcyclohexyltrifluoroborate has also been shown to be an effective catalyst for the synthesis of isomeric mixtures, which are mixtures that contain molecules with different molecular structures but identical chemical formulas. This compound was discovered by experimentation and its discovery led to more efficient ways to synthesize isomeric mixtures.
