(S,R,S)-AHPC-c10-NH2 is a peptide inhibitor of the P2X receptor. It is a potent and highly selective blocker of ATP-gated P2X receptors. The compound has been shown to inhibit ATP-gated currents in Xenopus oocytes expressing human P2X7 receptors. This compound has also been shown to be an activator of G protein signaling cascades activated by the vasopressin V1a receptor. (S,R,S)-AHPC-c10-NH2 has been used as a research tool to study the effects of ATP on ion channels and as an antibody for studying protein interactions.
