Beta-selinene is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in Chinese herbs that has been shown to have potential anticancer properties. Studies have demonstrated that beta-selinene induces apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells by inhibiting certain kinases involved in tumor growth and progression. This compound has been identified as a potent inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC), which plays a crucial role in regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. Beta-selinene analogs have also been developed as inhibitors of other kinases involved in cancer cell signaling pathways.
