Informazioni sul prodotto
- 3-Chloro-5,5-dimethylcyclohex-2-enone
- 3-Chloro-5,5-Dimethylcyclohex-2-En-1-One
3-chloro-5,5-dimethylcyclohex-2-en-1-one is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHCl. It is a colorless liquid that can be used to produce a variety of other chemicals. The condensation reaction between 3-chloro-5,5-dimethylcyclohexanone and copper(II) chloride yields 3,4,5,6,7,8 - hexahydroquinoxaline. This reaction produces an adduct (CHCl) and a chloride ion as byproducts. Oxalyl chloride reacts with the adduct to produce menthol and hydrogen chloride gas. The adduct then reacts with toluene to yield 3-(2'-methylphenyl)cyclohexanol and tetrahydrofuran.
