Pyridine-3-sulfonyl chloride hydrochloride is an exploratory chemical that is insoluble in water. It is a synthetic organic solvent that is recycled from the reaction solution of hydrochloric acid and impurities. Pyridine-3-sulfonyl chloride hydrochloride reacts with azides to form pyridinium azides, which are used in preparative chemistry as a residue or as an introducing agent. This chemical has been shown to have oral toxicity when introduced into the fatty acid chains of cell membranes, leading to their rupture.
