Riluzole is a drug that inhibits the synthesis of glutamate and aspartate, which are neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. It also inhibits the 5-HT2 receptors, which are associated with autoimmune diseases. Riluzole can be used to treat diseases such as bowel disease and Crohn's disease. This drug has been shown to have a low potential for drug interactions because it does not inhibit any cytochrome P450 enzymes or other enzymes involved in drug metabolism.
