1-Propargyl-1H-benzotriazole is a trisubstituted, alkylated compound that can be synthesized from butyllithium and alkyl chloride. It has been shown to react with β-unsaturated ketones, aldehydes, and electrophiles to form carbazoles. This compound also reacts with nucleophiles such as chloride to produce chlorides. 1-Propargyl-1H-benzotriazole is used in the synthesis of benzotriazolyl compounds, which are used as pharmaceuticals and pesticides. Primary amines can be converted into secondary amines using this compound.
