N,N-Diethyl-p-phenylenediamine oxalate salt (DEPA) is a polymer that is soluble in ionic liquids. It can be used for the production of ceramic materials with high sintering temperature, chlorine and titanium. DEPA has been shown to be responsive to changes in electrostatic, ionic, and element environments. This polymer can also be used as an ion exchange resin for the removal of ions from water. DEPA has shown the ability to absorb potassium ions at low concentrations and release them at higher concentrations. The yellow color of this polymer is due to the presence of oxalate groups on its backbone.
