Informazioni sul prodotto
- 2,5-Dicyanothiophene
Thiophene-2,5-dicarbonitrile is a triazine that can be used as a fungicide. It is also used in the synthesis of polymers and dyes. Thiophene-2,5-dicarbonitrile may produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) when it interacts with bacteria. ROS are toxic to cells and can inhibit protein synthesis. Thiophene-2,5-dicarbonitrile has been shown to inhibit the growth of Listeria monocytogenes through the formation of covalent bonds with proteins. This triazine also has a gel permeation chromatography profile similar to that of polythiazyl dyes. Thiophene-2,5-dicarbonitrile has fluorescence properties that make it useful for detection and identification of bacterial cells.
