Descrizione:
Methyl 2-hydroxytricosanoate is a natural product that has been isolated from the apocynaceae plant Lobata. It is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to have activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Leishmania, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Methyl 2-hydroxytricosanoate is a mixture of two stereoisomers, one of which is the major component. The other stereoisomer may have anti-inflammatory effects. This compound also has been shown to be effective against phytochemical studies of cerebroside and glycosphingolipids, as well as isolates of Candida albicans and Coccidioides spp.
