3-Matida is a neuroprotective agent that belongs to the group of depressant drugs. It binds to the receptor site on the surface membrane, which prevents it from being activated by neurotransmitters and inhibits neuronal death. 3-Matida has been shown to have a depressant effect in animal models, due to its ability to inhibit the release of glutamate and other neurotransmitters in rat striatal cell cultures. 3-Matida also blocks the synthesis of phospholipids and inhibits biochemical pathways such as lipid peroxidation, calcium ion influx, and proteolysis.
