Descrizione:
3-Methyl-4-pyrrol-1-yl-benzoic acid (3MPBA) is a plant pathogenic fungicide that belongs to the group of antifungal agents. It is an inhibitor of fungal DNA synthesis, which prevents the production of RNA and proteins necessary for cell division. 3MPBA has been shown to be active against most fungal species, including Cochliobolus heterostrophus (a fungus that causes corn smut), but not against protozoa or bacteria. 3MPBA is also useful in the development of antifungal drugs because it can be used to screen for novel compounds with antifungal activity.
