AAL-993 is a potent and selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor that binds to the VEGFR. This binding inhibits the activation of VEGFR, which leads to decreased angiogenesis, tumor growth, and tumor metastasis in animal models. AAL-993 is chemically stable and has a long half-life. AAL-993 also has been shown to inhibit the spontaneous formation of micelles in water, which may be due to its physicochemical properties.
