Descrizione

(S)-2-Amino-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)propanamide is an amino acid that is synthesized by the enzyme indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human skin cancer cells in vitro and to induce apoptosis. This compound has also been found to be a competitive antagonist at the 5HT2 receptor. (S)-2-Amino-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)propanamide may be useful for treating metabolic disorders or neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease by inhibiting dopamine receptors.
