Isopropyl-(4-methoxy-benzyl)-amine is a reagent that can be used for the preparation of nitriles, imines, and imine hydrochlorides. This compound is also an excellent borohydride and boron hydride reducing agent. Isopropyl-(4-methoxy-benzyl)-amine is often used as a chemoselective catalyst in reactions with aldehydes, ketones, and carbonyls. This product has been shown to be a useful catalyst in the synthesis of various heterocyclic compounds such as quinolines, piperidines, and indoles.
