3-Cyclohexylthiophene is a monomer that belongs to the group of cyclic compounds. It has a chemical formula of C9H12S and has three subunits. 3-Cyclohexylthiophene can be obtained by chlorination of 1,1-dichloromethylcyclohexane with chloroform, or by reacting 3-chlorothiophene with thiophosgene. This compound is used as a reagent in organic synthesis and has been shown to have thermal stability up to 120 degrees Celsius. In polymerization reactions, 3-cylohexylthiophene forms linear polymers with an annulated structure. The molecular weight of the polymer is between 2000 and 5000 Da and the conformation is nonlinear.
