4-Acetyl-N-[5-(diethylsulfamoyl)-2-hydroxyphenyl]-3-ethyl-5-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide is a ligand that binds to the bromodomain of the protein BRD4. The compound is an analog of acetohydroxamic acid, which has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. 4AEC has been shown to have antiinflammatory effects in mice by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines.
