Ozenoxacin is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It has a hydroxyl group that binds with ester linkages in human serum and provides pharmacokinetic properties. Ozenoxacin is used for the treatment of tissue infections, such as skin infections, caused by bacteria that are resistant to other antibiotics. Ozenoxacin has been shown to be active against Streptococcus species and other bacteria that cause infectious diseases such as pneumonia, sepsis, and meningitis. The drug can also be used for the treatment of symptoms caused by bowel disease such as inflammatory bowel disease.
