Zirconium(IV) chloride tetrahydrofuran complex (1:2) is a crystalline compound that consists of the metal zirconium and the chelate ligand. It is an organometallic compound with a molecular weight of 709.54 g/mol. Zirconium(IV) chloride tetrahydrofuran complex (1:2) has been shown to be an excellent catalyst for the synthesis of amides and carbonyls, as well as nucleophilic attack on carbon-hydrogen bonds. It can be used to produce reaction products such as chloroacetic acids, chlorobenzoic acids, and chlorobenzophenones.
