- Ethyl 8-chloro-3-quinolinecarboxylate
- 3-Quinolinecarboxylic acid, 8-chloro-, ethyl ester
Ethyl 8-chloroquinoline-3-carboxylate is a toxic chemical that has been shown to be effective in vitro against Candida glabrata. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, as evidenced by its ability to inhibit the production of IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine. Ethyl 8-chloroquinoline-3-carboxylate is not active against tumor cells in vivo, but can suppress the growth of tumor cells in vitro. This compound may be useful for treating fungal infections and inflammatory conditions. The optimum concentration of ethyl 8-chloroquinoline-3-carboxylate is 0.5 mg/mL when used in vitro as a protein extraction solvent or as a chemical pesticide.
