Telomerase Inhibitor X, also known as BIBR1532, is a synthetic small molecule that inhibits telomerase activity. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of telomerase in in vitro studies and may be used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. Telomerase Inhibitor X binds to the protein component of telomerase and prevents it from extending telomeres. This drug is not cytotoxic but does inhibit cell proliferation.
