8(17)14-Labdadiene-13,18-diol is a diterpene alcohol found in the heartwood of Picea sitchensis (sitka spruce). It is the sodium salt of labdadiene, which is found in sandaracopimaric acid. Labdadiene-13,18-diol has been correlated with abietane, pinosylvin and communic acid. This compound has been shown to have antifungal properties. Labdadiene-13, 18-diol also has antiinflammatory and antioxidant activities that can be attributed to its abietane content.
