4-Phenyl-1,2,5-thiadiazole-3-carboxylic acid is a synthetic fungicide that has been used for the control of powdery mildew on grape vines and other horticultural crops. It is also used in industrial applications as a surfactant. 4-Phenyl-1,2,5-thiadiazole-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against microorganisms such as bacteria and yeast. This fungicide is also effective against some strains of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. 4-Phenyl-1,2,5-thiadiazole-3-carboxylic acid has not been tested for toxicity to humans or animals.
