Benzyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-oxopropanoate is a naturally occurring triterpene that has shown potential use in the treatment of pyogenes. Benzyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-oxopropanoate has been shown to have anti-cancer properties in murine melanoma and human ovarian carcinoma cells. This compound also inhibits the enzyme activities of pomolic acid and oleanolic acids.
